State and Local Emergency Needs: Standards, Training, Exercises, Strategic Planning, and New Infrastructure Requirements

This panel addressed state and local emergency communication needs and how standards and improved interoperability can allow existing and planned communication and information systems to more effectively interconnect when needed in emergency situations. The panel also addressed needs that go beyond upgraded equipment and software including improving training, enhancing modeling and simulation and exercises, and engaging in strategic planning to cover emergency situations.
